THE Federal Savings Bank will open 680 bank branches today to continue withdrawals from the first installment of the emergency help. In the Federal District, 10 will make the payment of R $ 600 and, according to the bank, business hours will start at 8 am and will only end after the service of the last customer. Beneficiaries can arrive to make withdrawals until 12:00.

Caixa recalls that it reinforced the personnel in the service to speed up the payment of emergency aid and, therefore, avoid queues. The bank also notes that the R $ 600 cash withdrawal is intended only for people who received the benefit in a digital account, but were unable to use the resources through Caixa’s digital channels.

According to the bank, only yesterday, around 350 thousand withdrawals were made at branches. It was the third lowest daily volume since the start of the R $ 600 face-to-face payment last week.

For the institution, this reduction in the number of cash withdrawals shows that the majority of the beneficiaries have already managed to transfer the aid. Caixa expects, therefore, that the current movement in the branches will be smooth, without the formation of queues or crowds.

The balance presented yesterday by the bank found that 20 million of the 20.5 million people who received the R $ 600 in digital savings, have already used the aid. Most (12 million) made transfers to other bank accounts, but account payments were also recorded through the Caixa Tem application (900 thousand), in addition to debit purchases (47 thousand). Cash withdrawals total 6.78 million.

But the 500 thousand people who have already received, but have not yet handled the first installment of the R $ 600, must be aware. After all, the decree that instituted emergency aid determines that the funds deposited in these digital accounts will return to the government if they are not used within 90 days. Angelo emphasized that the return affects only digital accounts. Whoever received the R $ 600 in other bank accounts is not at risk.

The vice president of the Caixa retail network, Paulo Henrique Angelo, said that the bank has not yet received data on the 17 million citizens who registered emergency aid in April, and that they have not yet received a response from the government to find out. if they are entitled to R $ 600. The Minister of Citizenship, Onyx Lorenzoni, had said that the analysis of the registration of these personnel would conclude yesterday, but it was delayed.
