Approximately 93% of the more than 50 million Brazilians benefiting from the R $ 600 emergency aid have already moved the funds. The information was disclosed this Saturday (09) by the vice president of Caixa Econômica Federal, Paulo Henrique Angelo.

According to him, the numbers prove the size of the operation carried out by the government. “In a month, we paid more than 50 million Brazilians. It is like comparing that the entire population of Spain or Argentina has received this emergency aid,” he highlights.

Angelo explains that the movement of the payments is evidenced by the withdrawal of the Citizen’s Card made by the members of Bolsa Família, by the bank accounts that received the amounts and also by the digital savings registered for those who did not have a bank account.

Among those who had no ties to any bank, the number of payments exceeds 20.3 million. The volume of payments exceeded the bank’s initial estimate of paying 18.5 million people without a bank account.

Most of those present in this relationship (8.2 million) chose to transfer between Caixa accounts. Another 6.9 million preferred to withdraw the amount and 4.1 million made DOC or TED transfers to other banks.

There are still 466,000 who used the aid to pay dealers and 460,000 who used the money to pay bills. The option of receiving the amount on Elo debit cards was accepted by almost 50 thousand.
