Caixa and Sebrae announce credit for MEI and small businesses

In association, Caixa Econômica Federal and Sebrae announced an agreement that aims to guarantee the easy access to credit. The advantage is aimed at micro and small companies, as well as individual micro entrepreneurs (MEI).

The association is part of a set of measures implemented to reduce the impact caused by the new coronavirus crisis on small businesses in Brazil.

From the agreement, the credit lines provided by Caixa will be used. Sebrae will grant complementary guarantees through the Micro and Small Business Guarantee Fund (Fampe).

The expectation is that there will be an injection of R $ 7.5 billion in facilitated lines of credit.

Loan terms

Conditions for loans to MEIS and small businesses vary based on the size of the business. Check it out below:

Individual microentrepreneur

  • Maximum value contracted by CNPJ: up to R $ 12.5 thousand
  • Grace period: 9 months
  • Amortization after the grace period: 24 months.
  • Interest rates: 1.59% annually

Microenterprise

  • Maximum value contracted by CNPJ: up to R $ 75 thousand
  • Grace period: 12 months.
  • Amortization after the grace period: 30 months
  • Interest rates: 1.39% annually

Small company

  • Maximum value contracted by CNPJ: up to R $ 125 thousand
  • Grace period: 12 months.
  • Amortization after the grace period: 36 months
  • Interest rates: 1.19% annually

Easy loan for micro and small businesses and MEI

According to Caixa, companies with incomes of up to R $ 4.8 million per year can guarantee credit. Registration can be done on the website of the institution.

According to Pedro Guimarães, president of Caixa, those who are negative will not have access to the service.

As Sebrae explained, Fampe offers the necessary guarantee to micro and small companies. In addition, it meets the requirements of financial institutions to grant credit operations.

Although Caixa has indicated a value of R $ 7.5 billion, Carlos Melles, president of Sebrae, reported that the guarantees will leverage up to R $ 12 billion in loans.

President Pedro Guimarães, in turn, also confirmed that the value of the line of credit can reach R $ 12 billion. However, he added that, currently, the expectation is up to R $ 7.5 billion.
