According to the federal government, 6,177,702 people have recovered from COVID-19, with another 747,905 being followed.
Pazuello says that the private network will have a vaccine after the SUS is treated
The Minister of Health, Eduardo Pazuello, said today (17) that the country’s private network will have access to vaccines against covid-19, but after SUS (Unified Health System) it will serve the population in the National Immunization Plan.
The government of Jair Bolsonaro (without a party) yesterday announced a plan to vaccinate the population. So far, the country has not yet signed a purchase contract with any company or laboratory that produces the immunizers, only on purpose. On Thursday (17) the Ministry of Health reaffirmed that there is no fixed date for the start of vaccination in the national territory.
“Yesterday, speaking with a person from Congress about private health and the possibility of being bought by private health, yes, [será] authorized by us since [momento] that we have already accomplished, of what we need to receive, ”Pazuello said at a Senate hearing to discuss vaccination.
The minister said that the priority is assistance via SUS, which is free for the population.
Vehicles gather for information
In response to the decision of the government of Jair Bolsonaro to restrict access to data on the covid-19 pandemic, media Twitter, El Estado de S. Paulo, Folha de S.Paulo, O Globo, G1 and Extra formed a consortium to work collaboratively to seek the necessary information directly from the state health departments of the 27 units of the Federation.
The federal government, through the Ministry of Health, should be the natural source of these figures, but the attitudes of the authorities and the president himself during the pandemic cast doubt on the availability of the data and its veracity.
