Brazil registers for the first time more than 3 thousand deaths from Covid in one day | Coronavirus

Brazil hit another sad mark in the pandemic this Tuesday (23), registering more than 3 thousand deaths from Covid in one day for the first time. Were 3,158 deaths from the disease in the last 24 hours, totaling 298,843 deaths since the start of the pandemic. With that, the moving average of deaths in the country in the last 7 days reached 2,349, another record in the index. Compared to the 14-day average, the variation was + 43%, indicating upward trend in deaths from the disease.

This is what a new survey by the media consortium on the situation of the coronavirus pandemic in Brazil shows, based on data from state health departments, consolidated at 8 pm on Tuesday.

It has been 62 days in a row with the moving average of deaths above the 1,000 mark; by the sixteenth day, the mark appears above 1.5 thousand; and the country now completes a week with this average above the 2,000 deaths per day mark. Were 25 records followed in this index, recorded from February 27 to now.

This comparison takes into account the average number of deaths in the last 7 days until the publication of this balance in relation to the average registered two weeks ago (understand the criteria used by the G1 to analyze pandemic trends).

It is worth mentioning that there are states in which low death rates can lead to large percentage variations. Moving average data is generally in decimal numbers and rounded to facilitate presentation of the data.

Balance of vaccination against Covid-19 this Tuesday (23) indicates that 12,793,737 people have already received the first dose of vaccine against Covid-19, according to data published until 8:00 p.m. The number represents 6.04% of the Brazilian population.

The second dose has already been applied to 4,334,905 people (2.05% of the country’s population) in all states and the Federal District. In total, 17,128,642 doses were applied throughout the country.
