Brazil registers for the first time a moving average of more than 2,000 daily deaths from Covid; total passes 285 thousand | Wellness

Registered Brazil 2,736 deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours and this Wednesday (17) they totaled 285,136 deaths. With that, the moving average of deaths in the country in the last 7 days reached 2,031, for the first time above the 2,000 mark. Compared to the 14-day average, the variation was + 49%, indicating upward trend in deaths from the disease.

This is what a new survey by the media consortium shows on the situation of the coronavirus pandemic in Brazil, based on data from state health departments, consolidated at 8 pm this Wednesday.

There are already 56 days in a row with the moving average of deaths above the 1,000 mark, and by the tenth day the mark appears above 1,500. Were 19 records followed in this index, recorded from February 27 to now.

In confirmed cases, since the start of the pandemic 11,700,431 Brazilians have had or have the new coronavirus, with 90,830 of those confirmed on the last day. It is also the worst 24-hour diagnostic mark ever recorded so far. The moving average of the last 7 days was 70,637 new diagnoses per day. This represents a variation of + 23% in relation to the cases registered in two weeks, which indicates upward trend also in diagnoses.

Twenty states and the Federal District are increasing in deaths: PR, RS, SC, ES, MG, SP, DF, GO, MS, MT, AP, PA, RO, TO, AL, CE, PB, PE, PI, RN and SE. This March has already been registered as the worst month of the pandemic for the three states of the southern region, although there are still two weeks left until the end of the month.

This comparison takes into account the average number of deaths in the last 7 days until the publication of this balance in relation to the average registered two weeks ago (understand the criteria used by the G1 to analyze pandemic trends).

It is worth mentioning that there are states in which low death rates can lead to large percentage variations. Moving average data is generally in decimal numbers and rounded to facilitate presentation of the data.

Vaccination balance against Covid-19 this Wednesday (17) indicates that 10,713,615 people have already received the first dose of vaccine against Covid-19, according to data published until 8:00 p.m. The number represents 5.06% of the Brazilian population.

The second dose has already been applied to 3,916,493 people (1.85% of the country’s population) in all the states and the Federal District. In total, 14,630,108 doses were applied throughout the country.
