The Ministry of Health confirmed on Thursday (25) another 1,541 deaths from Covid-19. This is the second day in which more victims are registered in the entire pandemic; the largest was on July 29, 2020, when 1,595 deaths were recorded.
With the update, the folder confirms that the country has exceeded 250 thousand deaths from the disease. THE CNN this number had already advanced this Wednesday (24), with information from the state departments. In total, 251,498 Brazilians died as a result of infection with the new coronavirus.
Another 65,998 cases were also recorded, for a total of 10,390,461.
This Thursday marked one year of the first confirmed case of the disease in the country, with increasing rates, new strains of the virus and no signs of cooling off from the pandemic.
Eight states have adopted curfews and Salvador will enter a blockade starting this Friday (26).
The Minister of Health, Eduardo Pazuello, recognized in a speech this afternoon an aggravation of the disease in focal points of the country.
At the same event, the president of Conasems (National Council of Municipal Health Secretaries), Wilames Freire Bezerra, said that the phase he now faces is the worst since the start of the pandemic.
“This phase that we are going through now is a much more difficult phase than when the pandemic began in Brazil, given the numbers that are presented daily,” he said.
