Brazil has more deaths in 24 hours from coronavirus than Italy – Época Negócios

The Ministry of Health announced on Monday (27) that Brazil recorded 338 deaths from the new coronavirus (Sars-CoV-2) in the last 24 hours, totaling 4,543 deaths.

The number of daily victims is greater than that registered in Italy today, when, in absolute terms, the European country had 333 deaths in one day, with a total of 26,977. The mortality rate in the Brazilian territory is 6.8%.

In total, Brazil totaled 66,501 confirmed cases of Covid-19, with 4,613 infections in one day, an increase of 7.4% compared to the last government balance. Yesterday (26), the total number of contaminated reached 61,888, with 4,205 confirmed deaths.

In relation to the victims, there was an increase of 8%. However, the data on deaths does not necessarily mean that people have died in the last 24 hours, since the government has added to the balance of the deaths that occurred a few days ago.

According to the Ministry of Health, at least 27,531 patients are under medical follow-up, while 30,152 have already recovered. In addition, 1,322 deaths remain under investigation.

São Paulo remains the epicenter of the disease in the country. The state has the highest number of cases: there are 21,696 so far. Then there are Rio de Janeiro (7,944), Ceará (6,726), Pernambuco (5,358) and Amazonas (3,928).

As for the number of deaths, São Paulo also leads the ranking, with 1,825 deaths. Deaths from the new coronavirus were also recorded in Acre (14); Alagoas (34), Amapá (26); Amazon (320); Bay (76); Ceará (390); Federal District (27); Holy Spirit (57); Goiás (26); Maranhão (125); Mato Grosso (10); Mato Grosso do Sul (9); Minas Gerais (62); Pará (114); Paraná (75); Paraíba (50); Pernambuco (450); Piauí (20); Rio Grande do Norte (45); Rio Grande do Sul (42); Rio de Janeiro (677); Rondônia (10); Roraima (4); Santa Catarina (43); Sergipe (10); Tocantinas (2).
