Brazil has recorded 425 deaths from coronavirus in the last 24 hours, now totaling 153,690 in total since the start of the pandemic. The number of cases rose to 5,224,637, with an addition of 22,242 in the last 24 hours.

The moving average for deaths is 493, the lowest since May and a 25% drop in 14 days. The daily moving average of confirmed cases also fell 22% in the period, to 20,261. The value considers fluctuations in the last seven days and removes distortions between a high weekday number and a low weekend number.

The data come from the survey of the press media consortium, formed by Status, G1, O Globo, Extra, Folha and UOL, and carried out in conjunction with the state health secretariats.
