The registered country 1,954 deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours – the highest number since the start of the pandemic – and this Tuesday (9) totaled 268,568 deaths. With that, the moving average of deaths in Brazil in the last 7 days reached 1,572, also a record. Compared to the 14-day average, the variation was 39%, indicating upward trend in deaths for sickness.
This is what a new survey by the media consortium on the situation of the coronavirus pandemic in Brazil shows, based on data from state health departments, consolidated at 8 pm this Tuesday.
The state of Goiás did not reveal the number of deaths, only the number of cases today.
There are also 48 days in a row with the moving average of deaths above the 1000 mark, 12 days above 1.1 thousand, and by the tenth day the mark appears above 1.2 thousand. There have been 11 records in a row from February 27 to now.

In confirmed cases, since the start of the pandemic 11,125,017 Brazilians have had or have the new coronavirus, with 69,537 of those confirmed on the last day. The moving average for the last 7 days was 68,167 new diagnoses per day – the highest average number of cases since the start of the pandemic. This represents a variation of 38% in relation to the cases registered in two weeks, which indicates upward trend also in diagnoses.
Twenty-one states and the Federal District are increasing in deaths: PR, RS, SC, ES, SP, DF, MS, MT, AC, AP, RO, RR, TO, AL, BA, CE, MA, PB, PE, PI, RN and SE.

This comparison takes into account the average number of deaths in the last 7 days until the publication of this balance in relation to the average registered two weeks ago (understand the criteria used by the G1 to analyze pandemic trends).
It is worth mentioning that there are states in which low death rates can lead to large percentage variations. Moving average data is generally in decimal numbers and rounded to facilitate presentation of the data.
Balance of vaccination against Covid-19 this Tuesday (9) indicates that 8,736,891 people have already received the first dose of vaccine against Covid-19, according to data published until 8 at night. The number represents 4.13% of the Brazilian population.
The second dose has already been applied to 2,975,266 people (1.41% of the country’s population) in all states and the Federal District. In total, 11,712,157 doses were applied throughout the country.
