The balance of the new coronavirus figures released on Friday (2/10) by the Ministry of Health registers 708 deaths in the last 24 hours. This is the second day in a row with fewer than 800 deaths; On September 30, however, Brazil counted more than a thousand lives lost from the disease. Friday’s data also points to 33,431 more new cases.
Brazil, therefore, has 145,388 deaths due to the pandemic. Already confirmed cases of the disease reach 4,880,523. So far, 10.3% of those infected are under observation, which is equivalent to 502,542 people. Another 86.7% recovered: 4,232,593.

Among the states, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro have the highest number of deaths, 35,956 and 18,665, respectively. In several cases, São Paulo and Bahia occupy the first two positions, with 997,333 and 313,404, respectively.
Another 21 federal units accumulate more than a thousand deaths: Ceará (9,047), Pernambuco (8,299), Minas Gerais (7,502), Bahia (6,844), Pará (6,585), Rio Grande do Sul (4,852), Goiás (4,818), Paraná (4,560), Amazonas (4,162), Maranhão (3,776), Espírito Santo (3,565), Mato Grosso (3,447), Federal District (3,291), Paraíba (2,842), Santa Catarina (2,830), Rio Grande do Norte (2,398) , Piauí (2,132), Alagoas (2,085), Sergipe (2,045), Rondônia (1,368) and Mato Grosso do Sul (1,326).
At the end of the table are Tocantins (957), Amapá (713), Acre (664) and Roraima (659).
