On Friday, the first day of 2021, Brazil surpassed the sad mark of 195 thousand deaths from Covid-19, a disease caused by the coronavirus.
According to a new report on the pandemic released by the Ministry of Health, 462 new deaths were registered in the last 24 hours, which adds up to 195,411 deaths since the start of the health crisis.
Even without a vaccination plan, the country continues with figures at high levels. From yesterday to today there have been 24,605 new cases of infected people. The total number of Brazilians who have had contact with the virus is 7,700,578.
Even with the fact that Brazil is facing a second wave of the pandemic, a large part of the population, in recent days, has totally ignored security protocols against the disease, participating in parties, concerts, filling beaches and promoting crowds.
