The 2021 Brazilian Serie A Championship will be the first in history with a certain limit for the changes of coaches within the competition: each team can only have two coaches during the tournament. At the same time, each coach can only coach two different teams. Until now, this type of limitation did not exist.
In short: each club can only fire a coach once. And each coach can only resign once. Whoever requests the second, will no longer be able to train in the same competition. This applies only to the Brazilian Series A Championship, which begins on May 29 and ends on December 5.
If a team fires the coach for the second time, they can only hire another professional who is already an employee of the club with at least six months at home. For example: a coach of the base categories or a permanent assistant.

The proposal was presented to the 20 Serie A clubs by the president of the CBF, Rogério Caboclo, who had already tried to approve it in other years, without success. Voting between the clubs was tight, and it ended up being approved by 11 to 9.
CBF understands that you are protected from any employment claim. The entity values that coaches need to be treated in the same way as players, who also have a limit to change teams during the same tournament.
Zé Mário, president of the Brazilian Federation of Soccer Coaches, was present at the virtual meeting where the decision was made. The presiding entity praised the CBF proposal and the decision made by the clubs.
