On a rainy night and with a mixed team for matches with Vasco for the Brazil Cup, The Botafogo was dominated by Saints and managed to hold a 0 to 0 this Sunday, at the Nilton Santos Stadium. Glorious completed seven games without winning in brazilian championship and continued another round in the relegation zone, with 10 points and a single win, in 18th position.
The first half was even, Santos started better, but Botafogo later managed to dominate ball possession in some moments. However, the best opportunities were from the visitors. At 13 minutes Arthur Gomes received and played to cover Gatito, but Víctor Luis took over the line. Then, the Paraguayan saved twice: first by kicking Arthur Arthur and then coming out of evil and avoiding Renteria’s own goal.
Botafogo’s great opportunity came in the 23rd minute, when Caio Alexandre launched Davi Araújo deep, the midfielder tried to play for coverage on João Paulo, but the play did not go as he wanted and Luan Peres was removed.
