Bolsonaro was the target of criticism from his supporters after promising a “terribly evangelical” and nominating a name – judge Kassio Nunes – articulated with Centrão to fill the first vacancy, opened with the departure of Celso de Mello, who retires this month.
One of those irritated by Kassio Nunes’ suggestion was Pastor Silas Malafaia, who public criticism triggered to the president. Bolsonaro rebelled the pastor in the same vein: “it still says you have God in your heart.” Already the Universal Church, by Bishop Edir Macedo, supported the statement.
