BRASÍLIA – President Jair Bolsonaro said on a social network on Tuesday that emergency aid cannot last forever, much to the discontent of “demagogues and communists.” He also classified fiscal responsibility and respect for the roof as “paths of the economy.”

Bolsonaro defended that the new assistance action is not “electoral” and that he is not thinking about the presidential elections of 2022, but about 2021, when “millions of Brazilians who lost their jobs or income will no longer receive emergency aid.”
“My government seeks to anticipate the serious social problems that may arise in 2021, if nothing is done to confront this mass that everything, or almost everything, has lost,” he added.
The emergency aid is paid to informal workers and lasted until December, with a value of less than R $ 300. Now, the government is looking for alternatives to increase the number of beneficiaries of Bolsa Família in a new social program, so that the income of these workers do not experience a shock overnight.
Bolsonaro’s statement comes a day after the president met with congressional leaders and members of the economic team, including Economy Minister Paulo Guedes, to discuss the Citizen Rent, a project that should replace Bolsa Família.

On the occasion, Senator Marcio Bittar (MDB-AC), rapporteur of the proposed federative pact, affirmed that the new social program will be financed with part of the resources that were reserved for the payment of the precarious and new Fundeb funds.
However, the plan to use these resources to finance the program was not well received. In the financial market, the term “pedaling” was even used, in reference to the fiscal maneuvers of the PT government. Public accountants, however, criticized the support for a social program with already recognized debt payment resources.
Payment
Caixa Econômica Federal will begin to pay the second stage of emergency aid, which will be R $ 300 per month until December, for those who are not beneficiaries of Bolsa Família as of Wednesday.
According to the calendar of the new stage, beneficiaries born in January who received the first installment of the benefit in April will receive this Wednesday 30.
Whoever received the first delivery in May begins to receive it on October 30.
Who received the first delivery in June begins to receive on November 22
Those who began receiving in July will have access to new deposits from December 13.
Recipients who have filed an appeal and have become eligible between July 20 and August 25, also begin receiving on September 30.
The full benefit payment cycle runs through December 29.
