In his live show today, Jair Bolsonaro – obviously fearful of losing the “race” for the Covid-19 vaccine to political opponents – again questioned the obligation that people get vaccinated against the disease.
The statement, as we have published, contrasts with a law signed by the president in February, which allows compulsory vaccination as a way to face the pandemic, and with the Statute of Children and Adolescents.
In the live broadcast, Bolsonaro insisted on whether the ten-year-old youtuber Esther Castilhos would receive a vaccine “without scientific proof.”
“Do you like to get vaccinated?” Asked the president. “I like it, it’s much better than drawing blood,” Esther replied. “But would you take any vaccine without scientific evidence?” Bolsonaro insisted. “Yes,” reinforced the youtuber.
