Bolsa Família will be able to earn digital payments through Caixa Tem soon

A Federal Economic Fund you may soon launch a new feature in the app Box has. The tool, which is used for emergency assistance movements and the Guarantee Fund for Time of Service (FGTS), can also make the digital payment of Family scholarship.

Until then, the transfer of the benefit destined to low-income families is carried out only at the lottery agency tellers or self-service terminals. According to the president of Caixa, Pedro Guimarães, Bolsa Família’s digital payment account will be offered “with peace of mind”, since the audience of the program is more sensitive to issues related to technology.

The new function will be another possibility for the beneficiaries, since they will be able to choose the payment method they prefer, whether digital or by traditional means. Without the need to go to an agency to withdraw resources from the program, waiting times must be reduced, in addition to avoiding crowds.

Other government programs on the digital platform

To facilitate access to the Federal Government’s social programs, Renda Brasil’s digital payment management has been studied, a program that will replace Bolsa Família, in addition to other benefits. The intention of the Ministries of Citizenship and Economy is to group all government programs in a single platform, in order to make access to these resources easier and faster for the population served.

Duration of Caixa Tem

Created in April, the Caixa Tem application was developed to transfer resources from emergency benefits to help workers and the most vulnerable population during the Covid-19 pandemic. Payment is made completely digital, avoiding that the beneficiaries have to go to an agency to withdraw the money.

The funds related to emergency assistance of R $ 600 and the emergency withdrawal of the Service Time Guarantee Fund (FGTS), up to R $ 1,045. Through the application, users can currently make proof of payment, transfer money to other accounts of their choice and make purchases using the virtual debit card or the QR code generated in the application itself.

According to Guimarães, Caixa Tem is the digital bank for lower-income banking clients, who represent 90% of Caixa’s client base. The services offered by the application will continue even after the pandemic, and the bank also intends to add new resources, such as cards, insurance and microcredits.
