Roberto Gervásio, 40, died last Saturday (12), a victim of the complications of Covid-19. The bodybuilder had been hospitalized in Curitiba, Paraná, for 21 days. The victim had 75% of her lungs compromised by the coronavirus infection, according to the family.
“About 75% of the lung was compromised. He had no comorbidity, since he was always a very caring person. It was a surprise, since he did not drink, he did not smoke and he followed the diet of an athlete. It was really unexpected, ”said Kelvin Tavares, Roberto’s brother.
Kelvin also talked about how the victim contracted the disease. “He went to work in São Paulo and we believe that he has returned contaminated. He went to the hospital three times before being admitted. He was a great person, hard-working and smiling. Roberto always followed protocol, so much so that he did not want friends or family to visit his home, ”he said.
Some tributes were directed to the athlete on social networks. “Whoever was part of the bodybuilder knew the great Gervásio. The guy was the king of painting, the best athletes just wanted to paint with him. He was a sensational athlete, he always had an elegant choreography to lift the audience and I was happy to prepare him for some competitions, ”wrote Fabrício Pacholok, Roberto’s former coach.
The athlete had the title in the Physique Novice category of the last Sardine Classic, one of the main bodybuilding championships in Brazil.
