The Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) reported today (7) that the Macapá electrical system was reconnected to the Transmission Network of the National Interconnected System (SIN), after repairs were completed in one of the substation’s transformers of Macapá during sunrise. Consequently, according to a note released by the portfolio, the return of energy supply will be gradual, “assessing the safety and reliability of the electricity supply to consumers.”
Around 9:30 am, Minister Bento Albuquerque began a meeting with agents from the electricity sector with a view to restoring power. “Electricity is already beginning to reach the Amapá house,” the ministry said.
At this time, there is a meeting of Minister Bento Albuquerque with agents of the electricity sector who are in Amapá working to restore (completely) power, as soon as possible.

According to the ministry, 80 MW of loads are served, which represents around 33% of the typical load per hour of 240 MW. “Charging through the distribution network is done gradually, with the need for maneuvers in the field, taking a natural time to increase the load,” said a note in the folder.
Emergency
This Friday (6), the Amapá government decreed an emergency situation due to the blackout that left a large part of the state in darkness since Tuesday night (3). According to the MME, 14 of the 16 municipalities in Amapá were affected by the lack of electricity.
The power outage was due to a problem that, in addition to the automatic shutdown of the Laranjal / Macapá transmission lines, caused a fire in a transformer in the capital’s Macapá substation. The MME created a crisis management office, with the participation of sector agents, such as the National Electricity System Operator (ONS), the National Electric Power Agency (Aneel), Eletrobrás and LMTE (transmission line concessionaire). , to resolve the situation.
According to ONS, the transformer that caught fire belongs to the concessionaire Linhas de Macapá Transmissora de Energia (LMTE), controlled by the Spanish company Isolux, and it was completely destroyed. As two other pieces of equipment were also damaged, there was no possibility of reusing the parts for the substation to restart.
Also on Friday, the MME published Ordinance 406 that authorizes the contracting, “in a fast, exceptional and temporary manner”, of electricity generation for the amount of up to 150 MW, in Amapá, for up to 180 days or in a shorter period. , when there is recognition by the Electricity Sector Monitoring Committee (CMSE) of a satisfactory condition of service to the State.
On Twitter, President Jair Bolsonaro said last night that a team sent to Amapá was making an oil filter for a transformer, a process that would be completed this morning. “With the oil in good condition, the generator will be put into operation and will begin to operate gradually,” said the president. According to him, “the water supply has already been normalized and all the hospitals are already energized.”

However, contacted by Brazil Agency, the Amapá government reported that around 5 in the morning, some towns began to receive power, “but the resumption is quite limited and there is still no forecast for the normalization of water and electricity services.” According to the press office, some places have been without electricity for 80 hours.
Senate President Davi Alcolumbre, a senator from Amapá, said on social media that he will go to the state today to closely monitor the energy recovery work.
