It even has a link with the São Januário club until December 31, but the technical commission headed by Marcelo Cabo does not. The 25-year-old regrets it and, even on a forced vacation, shows some hope of another chance.
– I think I still had a lot of wood to burn at Vasco, I would like to be able to continue, help Vasco and be in the group that I am sure will put the club back at the top of the national scene, which is Serie R. I would like to , but I don’t compare myself to Pikachu or anyone else because Pikachu had already been at home for a long time. Although he is aware that the exit is close, Marcos is grateful when he talks about Vasco.

Marcos, how is it for you not to be able to participate in a Vasco x Bangu, a match of the team that designed you for Vasco and where you were very happy against the biggest club you ever defended? Is there sadness, even more so being under contract?
– For me, it’s a pretty boring situation. It was sad not being able to participate in this great game that is Vasco x Bangu because perhaps it was the game that made me go to Vasco. And perhaps the game that made me known on the national scene.
– I was able to play a great game, a goal and qualify for my team, which at that time was Bangu. It’s certainly better than sadness, especially since I have a contract with Vasco and I can’t act. I get very angry and sad because I am not playing games, but God knows everything.
How is the negotiation going so that you leave the Basque? Are you close to getting it right with a new club?
– Some surveys have appeared, but I have been left out a bit, I let my boss work. I asked him to come and give my opinion when he is about to get it right or when something interesting comes up. For now I am focused on training to be well and prepared when an opportunity arises or to stay at Vasco or go to another club.

How has this vacation been extended? I saw that you were training with Fellipe Bastos and Henrique.
– It’s not really a vacation because we are going through a difficult and sad time in our country. We are having many losses, many families are going through difficulties. The holidays have been more to train and stay with the family at home.
– I have treated this vacation with a lot of work. And also with a lot of love from my family, who have been helping me. It is not an easy time to see your teammates play, to see all the clubs play and you train at home, apart. It is a very difficult time, perhaps the most difficult that I have been through since I played football.
– But I’m taking it very naturally, with my head held high and working hard because I know that a new opportunity will appear. And again I will make this new opportunity the most important of my career.
After the arrival of Vanderlei Luxembugo, you played four of his 12 games. He had a lot of confidence in you in 2019 and in the last pass he used you less. Do you think you could have helped more in the fight against Serie B?
– I acted less than I wanted because we want to play all the games. With his arrival he even hoped to play more, but it was his choice and what he thought was best for Vasco. So I have nothing to question or complain about. I just worked, I looked for my space, unfortunately I could not help as I wanted because it was not his option.
– I kept my head calm, but I was very sad for the simple fact of having helped a lot in his passage of 2019 and not having had so many occasions in his return last year, but it is part of football. So we have to have a good head and calm because in the front we can meet and we have to be prepared to help again.
