Thousands of tourists and residents took advantage of the prolonged Independence party and filled the beaches of Santos, on the São Paulo coast, this Saturday (5). Images obtained by G1 they show the strip of sand extracted from people, some without a protective mask and favoring agglomeration. The expectation is that up to 300 thousand vehicles will pass through the Anchieta-Imigrantes System towards Baixada Santista during the holiday.

The region has a forecast of sunshine and temperatures of up to 28 ° C during the holidays, which should attract even more tourists to the São Paulo coast. In the images you can see bathers walking along the sea, practicing physical activities and children playing on the sand strip. To try to avoid crowds on the beaches, at least 400 military policemen were directed to Baixada Santista.

The greater flexibility for activities on the beaches, in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, has increasingly motivated tourists to go to the cities of the region. According to Ecovias, the concessionaire that manages the Anchieta-Imigrantes System (SAI), more than 145,000 vehicles have already passed through the system to the municipalities of Baixada Santista on the holiday.

In all the cities of the region, the beach is free for individual sports, as well as for sea bathing and water sports. The only city that allows the use of chairs and umbrellas is Peruíbe.
