++ Suspension provokes fights in São Januário

At 8:25 p.m., the club was notified of the suspension of the elections, which began at 9:55 a.m. Even with the decision, the board decided to keep voting, which continued until shortly after 10 p.m. At that moment, the lights of São Januário went out. There were still people to vote.

At first, there would be no vote count. All the urns used were sealed and would be sent to a security company. However, no company was found capable of receiving them. Therefore, Vasco decided to count the votes. The decision was made around 11:15 pm. Then the light came back.

Members used seven ballot boxes: Ballot box 8 was for amnesties. 1 to 7 would be “normal”. However, there were only 1 to 4 votes.

When voting was resumed after the suspension, the members deposited the ballots in ballot box 5. The amnesties, after the resumption, voted for 8B. Vasco believes that some 150 members voted for these two polls.

The five candidates expressed their opinion on the suspension of the lawsuit. Look what each one said:

– It is unfortunate. It is absurd that elections in Basque are always decided in court. Nothing is respected at all. And you see the lack of respect towards the partner here at 7:45 pm, all the people that are here working for this election, they turned the night around to make it happen. We have been here since 7 in the morning working on the elections. The partner arrived, faced a queue, waited to exercise his right to vote and then they go to court suspending this decision, which I think only affects the partner and Vasco. But they are celebrating it like a goal. The irresponsibility of this group is impressive.

– At this moment, I sympathize with the member of the Vasco da Gama Club, who appeared today in São Januário to exercise his right to vote. Since the beginning of my candidacy, I have sought consensus to avoid situations like today’s. Fights lead to this. Lack of respect for Vasco’s partner. We will continue with serenity, fighting for the future of our club. We are proud of our team and very grateful to the associates who trusted in our project.

– Another unfortunate chapter in the history of Vasco, again written by the same old people. The couple was again abused. What Leven and Campello did from yesterday to today was absurd. They put their partner at risk. They muggled all the associates, mainly outside of Rio, as they did all of us. Our campaign team was very confident of victory. The mouth of an urn indicated that the return was a matter of minutes. but today all this is secondary. It is time that leaders who dialogue understand each other. Once again the image of Vasco suffers from these irresponsible.

– I think it’s a shame, because people, instead of accepting to participate in democratic elections, insist on bothering Vasco in this shameful way. It shows that these people really do not have the maturity, capacity, legitimacy, condition to govern a century-old and grandiose institution like the Vasco de Gama Club. This here symbolizes where we are in Basque. We are in darkness. They are Vasco do Campello, Brant and Salgado. He is Basque in the dark. That’s what they want for Vasco, because they don’t know how to lose. And a great value of sport is knowing how to lose.
