Messi is one of the athletes who promoted the advertising campaign, apparently in a montage like the new uniform. The Barça third shirt will be mostly pink with green accents, a color that will also be adopted in shorts and socks.
According to the club’s official website, the colors were chosen to refer to the sunrise in the city of Barcelona: the pink of the sky with the blue-green of the sea. The colors would also reflect the technology used to make the equipment, with pink representing the lightness of the fabric and greens indicating a feeling of freshness.
This is the second time in recent years that Barcelona have chosen pink for their third kit. In 2017/18, the team also had a jersey of the same color. Barça must adopt this equipment when playing away from home when they need to wear lighter uniforms so as not to confuse them with the rival.
