A new alert of the Civil Defense of Belo Horizonte on the afternoon of this Wednesday (11) due to the possibility of rain from hail in Capital. The notice is valid until 6pm. Also due to the trend of new rains in the next 48 hours, there is the possibility of moderate geological risk until Saturday (14). Previously, it rained a lot in the Northwest Region. In the West, Central-South and Northeast regions, rainfall was weak. The body calls for attention for the next few hours.

According to the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), the climate should not undergo significant changes in the next 24 hours. The meteorological conditions are favorable for the occurrence of heavy rains in almost the entire state due to the intensification of areas of atmospheric instability in central Brazil.

Between 8:30 pm on Wednesday (11) and 4:30 am on Thursday (12), all regions of BH were affected by rain, according to the Civil Defense report. The most affected regions were Barreiro (16 mm), Oeste (15.4 mm) and Central-South (15.2 mm). They were followed by Venda Nova (10.2 mm), Northwest (9.2 mm), Pampulha (8 mm), Northeast (7.6 mm), East (6.2 mm) and North (4.2 mm).

Between yesterday afternoon and today, Civil Defense responded to 38 calls for issues related to rain, most of which were made in censuses of private properties in the Central-South and Eastern regions.

The most significant damage occurred on Wednesday afternoon. The rain began to appear again at the beginning of the morning of this Thursday (12). Between 6:55 a.m. and 7:30 a.m., light rains hit the nine regional capitals.

  • Do not stay in open areas such as soccer fields, tennis courts, and parking lots.
  • Don’t stay high on hills, on top of buildings, towers of telephone lines and electricity.
