Both players will face Atlético for the first time since their departure. This Sunday, Galo and Bragantino are at 18:00 (Brasilia time), in Mineirão, for the tenth round of the Football.

The sales were made with different scripts. Alerrandro, who was the alternate top scorer of the 2019 season in Galo, with 13 goals, was exchanged for 3 million euros (about R $ 14 million at that time). He played little at the time of the transfer and the mining club needed money.
The forward, who arrived at Galo in 2014 at age 14, had a very successful career at the base, being the top scorer in all categories. He established himself in the professional team in 2019, with good games and a good average of goals. He started playing part of the year, but lost income and lost space; when he left, he was the third option in the attack. Even understanding that he is an athlete with growth potential, Atlético saw the negotiation as a good opportunity to strengthen the cashiers. Alerrandro left Galo with a message that said: “This club will always be my home.”
Cleiton cost more than: 5 million euros (R $ 23 million at that time). The goalkeeper is also the son of the athletic base and made his professional debut in 2017. However, he was enshrined in the first team only in 2019, when Víctor was injured. He played great games, showed confidence under the posts and quality of play. The good stage in the Galo and in the Olympic team caught the attention of Bragantino.

Atlético’s departure was not the easiest. The negotiation lasted for months, there was some wear in the relationship between the athlete (and his representatives) with the Rooster until he hit the hammer, but the deal was closed. Behind the scenes, the sale was celebrated by Atlético, who understood that they had done a great deal. This Sunday, in Mineirão, the player reappears on the athletics route, now as an opponent.

Goalkeeper Cleiton came in as the second largest investment made by Bragantino in the year. It took him a long time to get a chance and, in his first opportunity, he caught two penalties against Botafogo-SP, in the quarterfinals of the Interior Tournament. His good performance earned him the title.

In the Brazilian Championship, however, the goalkeeper has consistently failed and received criticism. Bragantino conceded 14 goals in the championship, and five of them came from Cleiton’s clear failures. (see one in the video above). Alerrandro was slow to be disenchanted by Massa Bruta, but in Brasileirão he is the team’s top scorer, along with Claudinho. In the first five rounds of the competition, he scored three goals. When he was in his prime, he suffered a shoulder injury against Coritiba. He returned to the team in the last two games, coming off the bench. Currently, he is fighting for ownership with Ytalo.
The trend is for the creation of the athletic base to begin in Mineirão. Despite his affection for Rooster, Alerrandro, of course, will try to enforce the “ex’s law.” Atlético de Sampaoli, meanwhile, will do anything to prevent it.
