Confused from uniforms
Couto Pereira’s game was marked by confusion in the uniforms of the teams. Before the match began, the referees pointed out that the outfits for Coritiba and Atlético were too similar, due to the predominance of white on both shirts. The ball rolled anyway.
During the break, the teams changed uniforms. Coritiba wore the predominantly green jersey, while Atlético replaced the traditional black white with white.
absolute dominance?
When referee Diego Pombo López whistled the end of the first half, the statistics showed the absolute dominance of the Atlantic: 65% possession, 316 passes exchanged (136 more than Coritiba) and ten submissions (against only one of the owners) of the House).
Quite offensive, Atlético prevailed from the first minute. The Alvinegra team arrived well on both sides and, after a difficult start to bring danger to the goal defended by Wilson, got good finishes.
Defensively, the Atlantic suffered little. The only shot of the home team was out and did not endanger the goalkeeper Raphael.
Coritiba balanced, but athletic advantage remains
Widely dominated in the initial stage, Coritiba returned with a change for the second half: striker Igor Jesús replaced the midfielder Matheus Galdezani. Just at 2 ‘, the 19-year-old made the most dangerous play of the team up to that moment: after crossing Sass, went to the ground. The ball passed.
Coritiba’s offense made the game more open, with chances for both sides. With more possession of the ball in the second half, the hosts roamed the rival area, but found it difficult to infiltrate. The Atlantic, in turn, armed itself to counterattack.
At 47 ‘, the Alvinegro team took a counterattack that ended at the feet of Savarino, who, without a goalkeeper – since Wilson had gone to try a header in the rival area – lost the goal in an incredible way. But it was not lost. In the end, triumph in black and white away from home.
