At home, Atlético-PR beat Vasco, today (27), opened the distance for the relegation zone of the Brazilian Championship, and entered the fight for a place in the South American next year. The 3-0 victory was built on goals from Nikão and Carlos Eduardo, twice, and featured failures from the defensive sector of Cruz-Maltino.
The result made the Paraná team reach 34 points, six more than Vasco himself, first in the grip zone.
On the next day, Athletico-PR will visit Botafogo, in Nilton Santos, while Colina’s team will face Atlético-GO, away from home.
Carlos Eduardo shines
Carlos Eduardo became the name of the game by scoring two goals in victory, one at each half. The second, with a shot from the intermediary, happened, at a time when Vasco was rehearsing a reaction.
Zaga fails and complies
Vasco’s defense was a disaster. With many marking errors and, above all, when the ball was out, the sector was the negative point of the Cruz-Maltese team.
Frantic start
The match had barely started and the two fans lamented the missed chances. The first was that of Vasco, when Neto Borges lagged behind and crossed. The ball passed through the area and Vinicius, unmarked at the far post, did not finish. Shortly after, Nikão cornered and Thiago Heleno, alone, went up and headed, but sent over the goal.
Vasco falters and Huracán opens the scoring
Pressing the ball out of Vasco, Athletico-PR managed to open the scoring early. At 10 minutes, Richard took advantage of the lack of Neto Borges and found Nikão, who hit hard, without a chance for Fernando Miguel.
Tranquility x slowness
With the advantage on the scoreboard, Huracán began to exchange passes with a certain calm and to dictate the rhythm of the duel. Cruz-Maltino, meanwhile, had gaps between the sectors and did not have a marker above, giving space to the rival.
Balance and goal canceled
Little by little, the game was gaining balance. Vasco knew how to advance and create chances, leveling the duel a bit. At this time, the fans of the Colina team celebrated, but the goal was disallowed. On a free kick, Canó dominated and hit the back of the net, but got ahead of the opposing defense.
The hurricane expands into a new fault
Vasco still lamented the wasted opportunity when Atlético-PR increased the lead on the scoreboard. In a new fool in the defensive sector, the ball was in the hands of Nikão, who found Leo Citaddini. He kicked from outside the area and Fernando Miguel bounced off Carlos Eduardo’s foot, which he completed.
Aborted again
Vasco returned to the second with changes and starting. At first, Torres tried to pass Talles Magno, the ball deflected and went to Cano, who dribbled to Pedro Henrique and brandished the net. However, after the VAR warning, the attacker’s impediment was again pointed out.
Fernando Miguel appears
Goalkeeper Fernando Miguel reappeared, this time with good saves. First, he fell into the corner and spread Nikão’s submission. Then kicking Christian from outside the box.
Athletico-PR puts the “lime shovel”
Huracán reached the third goal in the 15th minute of the second half, again with Carlos Eduardo. When Vasco tried to react in the confrontation, he received in the intermission without previous appointment, chose the corner, called and went to the celebration.
All or nothing
After the third goal, Vasco tried everything to at least reduce the defeat at the Arena da Baixada, but stumbled on his own mistakes with the ball on his foot. Atlético-PR, on the other hand, with a comfortable scoreboard, waited for the rival and went at speed.
Ball in the area
Without creativity, Vasco began to explore the balls in the area. On one of these plays, Torres headed well, but the ball went through the post and went out.
Divided and worried
After being split at the top with Tiago Reis, midfielder Richard fell to the pitch in the final stretch of the game and had to receive medical attention. He left the field on stretchers and was replaced by Jadson, a former Corinthians.
Almost the room (twice)
Hurricane almost reached the fourth goal after a beautiful play in the final minutes. Jadson avoided the ball, went to the baseline and crossed. Walter adjusted his chest to Nikão, who came from behind and struck first, but sent him out. Furthermore, Jadson found Nikão entering the area alone. He got in the face of Fernando Miguel and tried a small excavation, but the goalkeeper succeeded.
