The military policeman suspected of raping a woman in Copacabana, Rio’s South Zone, was administratively arrested by the corporation itself. In a note, the Secretary of State for Military Police also reported that The justice was asked that the policeman remain in detention indefinitely.

Also in the note, the prime minister says that the suspected police officer was administratively arrested and “an investigation by the military police (IPM) was opened.”

“We emphasize that the Corporation, as it has shown throughout its history, does not condone and sanction with the utmost rigor the deviations of conduct committed by its members when the facts are verified,” the PM stressed.
