BRASILIA – Argentina suspended the entry of Brazilian tourists to the country, from this Friday until January 8. The measure is also valid for other countries with an increase in cases and deaths from Covid-19.

Argentines and residents who return to the country must present a negative PCR test for Covid-19, carried out 72 hours before the flight, and comply with a seven-day quarantine. Foreigners authorized by the National Migration Directorate must also present international medical assistance insurance.

Only two airports in Argentina have been authorized for international travel, Ezeiza and San Fernando, both in the region of the capital, Buenos Aires. The prohibition of entry of foreigners applies to neighboring countries: Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, Bolivia and Paraguay.

Concerned about the new strain of coronavirus, which may be up to 70% more transmissible, Argentina had already interrupted the arrival and departure of flights to the United Kingdom.
