A new blackout was registered in Amapá on Tuesday night (17). Of the 16 municipalities in the state, 13 are obscure. The power outage was recorded at 8:35 pm. However, there is still disagreement when the causes of the lack of power supply.

Initial information from CEA (Companhia de Eletricidade do Amapá) indicates that the blackout was due to a short circuit at the Coaracy Nunes Hydroelectric Plant.

According to Christina Lemos’ blog for the R7Reported Senator Davi Alcolumbre (DEM), president of the Senate, to the MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy), who said that it is not a new blackout, but rather an instability in the system due to overload. The transformer is already energizing and the system should return to normal within the next few hours.

In a statement, the ministry confirmed the information. “The electrical system showed instability and the causes are being investigated. The system is gradually being restored,” the folder said.

The cities of Laranjal do Jari, Vitória do Jari and Oiapoque do not suffer blackouts because they have their own substation.

It is the second power outage to hit the state this month. Two weeks ago, on the 3rd, a fire in the Macapá substation, owned by the concessionaire LMTE (Macapá Transmitting Energy Lines), left 14 of the 16 municipalities of Amapá in the dark for almost four days.

The LMTE ruled out a relationship with the two occurrences. “Linhas de Macapá Transmissora de Energia reports that the blackout in Amapá tonight (11/17) must be confirmed with the authorities, and that there is no problem with the LMTE transformer,” he said in a statement. Also according to the text, the equipment continues to “operate with high performance” since the reset, on November 7.

Senator Randolfe Rodrigues commented on the episode on social media. In a video posted to Christina Lemos’ blog, she complains about the lack of information about what happened.

In a note, Companhia de Eletricidade do Amapá said it was “working to restore the system that serves the 13 municipalities on Tuesday night after the supply was interrupted.”

“For security reasons, this procedure is carried out with load insertion gradually. After the restoration, the Company has already inserted 97 megawatts of load into the system, which corresponds to half of the energy that was previously available ”, the text concludes.

Due to the lack of power, the TRE (Regional Electoral Tribunal) of Amapá decided to hold two rounds of municipal elections in Macapá on December 6 and 20. as the journalist Christina Lemos anticipated.

Without sense

The general director of the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel), André Pepitone, had promised this Tuesday afternoon to make a “riot” in the national interconnected energy system due to what happened in Amapá. The idea was that the responsible bodies could identify if there is a problem in the system. According to Pepitone, the forecast is in a letter issued by Aneel’s board of directors, in which the ONS (National Operator of the Electric System) is required to carry out a “real scan” of the system.
