DJ Alok was moved to recall the difficult days of his daughter Raika’s hospitalization in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit), after a premature delivery, during an interview with the television program “Fantástico”, on TV Globo.
Raika is the youngest daughter of Alok and Romana Novais, and she was born on December 2 after a premature birth, caused by complications from covid-19. The couple announced they were infected with the virus earlier in the same week that the baby came into the world. Four days ago, Alok announced that he tested negative for covid-19.
“In the first 48 hours it was extremely difficult for me. I could only keep praying and asking God that everything would turn out well and that it would not be fair … (pause, cry) ”, Alok said excitedly. “Raika is being a warrior. We have been out for 9 days, because I tested negative, but Romana still hasn’t,” Alok added, justifying the distance.
“For me, the most difficult of all is this [não pegar a filha no colo]. He was so afraid of everything, he didn’t even want to touch it. But soon they took her away from me and took her to the ICU, ”Romana explained later.
Alok and Romana are already parents to Ravi, who was born on January 10. At the time they announced their new pregnancy in July, they detailed that the youngest was expected to be born on the same day as her brother.
