Inter already has a new president for the next three years. Former soccer vice president Alessandro Barcellos, of Chapa 5, beat Chapa 3’s candidate, José Aquino Flores de Camargo, in the second round of the Colorado elections and will order the club’s exit.

Barcellos repeated the scenario of the first round, when he passed with a good margin through the “patio” before Aquino. This Tuesday, Plate 5 received 16,522 votes against 9,600 of its opponent and will be in charge of the Club until 2023. There were 2354 invalid votes and 565 blank votes. In all, 29,041 Colorado members voted, a record in Colorado history.

In addition to the challenge of balancing Inter’s finances, Barcellos will face the new presidential term format. Unlike the most recent presidents, the future commander will have three years in office. In this atypical season due to the pandemic, the president will take office on a date to be defined in January, when the Brasileirão will still take place. On the field, in national competition, the immediate objective will be to try to fight for the title or a place in the Libertadores next year.

On his resume, in addition to mastering soccer this season, Barcellos also had experiences in club finance and administration. At the age of 49, he has a degree in administration from FAPA and a specialization in Management, Research and Innovation from Unicamp. He has been Secretary of State for Administration and Human Resources of RS, CEO of Detran-RS and general coordinator of bank technical assistance for the Legislative Assembly of RS.

The following are members of the Board of Directors: 1st Vice Chairman, Dannie Dubin, 2nd Vice Chairman, Arthur Caleffi, 3rd Vice Chairman, Luiz Ribeiro Bortolini and 4th Vice Chairman, Humberto Cesar Busnello.

From the situation to the opposition

Alessandro Barcellos had a troublesome exit from the current Colorado administration. Former Vice President of Soccer, the coach worked at the club until September, having participated in the formation of Eduardo Coudet’s team.

The decision came from President Marcelo Medeiros, who chose to withdraw Barcellos after learning of the alliance between the Colorado movements to form opposition in this year’s elections.
