BRASILIA – In his third letter sent to the Minister of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) Celso de Mello on the order to deliver the video of the meeting of the council of ministers that would confirm the statements of President Jair Twitter on interference in the Federal Police, the Office of the Attorney General (AGU) On Friday he asked the minister not to allow the full content of the video to be published.

Understand: The chronology of the crisis between Moro and Bolsonaro since the meeting registered in Planalto

In the demonstration, AGU asks the minister to define the “chain of custody” of the video in advance after its delivery, that is, the agency wants to know which sectors and public servants will pass the material for analysis, to avoid leaks. AGU also asks Celso to recommend to the PF “to segregate the elements that are pertinent from those that are not pertinent to the survey in question in order to definitively unite the first one to the records.”

The order to deliver the video has caused embarrassment at the Planalto Palace. As columnist Bela Megale revealed, Bolsonaro was in a “bad mood” and generally scolded ministers, saying he could fire anyone, including the Minister of Justice, who at the time was Sergio Moro. The threat of dismissal was made when the president addressed the change of command of the PF in Rio and in the general direction of the body. In addition to the confrontation with the former Minister of Justice, the meeting also had many blasphemies pronounced by Bolsonaro and criticism of China by those present.

At the STF: AGU asks Moraes to reconsider the decision that banned the appointment of Ramage to command PF

On Thursday, the AGU had asked Celso de Mello for permission to deliver only excerpts from the video, but the minister did not respond to the request. Before that, the AGU had also requested reconsideration of the order, arguing that the meeting showed “potentially sensitive and reserved matters of the State, including foreign affairs, among others.”

The 72-hour period for the delivery of the video began on Wednesday, after the call sent to the Planalto Palace and, in theory, expires on Saturday. With that, in the evaluation of the lawyers, AGU could deliver it this Friday or postpone the delivery until Monday.

As O GLOBO revealed last Sunday, the video was cited in the testimony of former minister Sergio Moro as one of the material evidence of Bolsonaro’s interference with the PF. According to Moro, Bolsonaro declared at that meeting that he would like to change the PF superintendent in Rio de Janeiro and, if he could not do so, threatened to fire PF PF general director Maurício Valeixo or Moro himself. The investigation investigates whether Bolsonaro had undue interference with the PF and whether such interference would characterize crimes such as obstruction of justice and administrative defense.

After the information provided by Moro, the Attorney General of the Republic, Augusto Aras, requested that the video be provided, to allow the investigation of the case to continue.
