– It means a lot to people to look at us and think “wow, in 1993 these guys had nothing.” With hard work and dedication, you will be amazed at what you can accomplish. It was very exciting when Lewis arrived. It was almost like the culmination of everything, from the first time he sat in a kart and said, “I want to race.” I thought, “I can’t afford it, Lewis, but if you’re going to do this, you have to take it seriously.” And we have been doing it seriously since then – said the Briton.
The current Mercedes driver comes from humble origins and, before being sponsored early in his karting career by McLaren’s Ron Dennis, he had to rely on the dedication of his father, who even worked four jobs, to keep racing. .
The only driver to win at least one race each season in F1, Lewis Hamilton rose to the top of the podium for the first time in 2007 at the Canadian Grand Prix. After 13 years, at the Eifel GP at the Nürburgring, he touched the victories record previously held by seven-time champion Michael Schumacher of 91 victories. The 92nd victory came this Sunday, in Portugal.

Anthony Hamilton also noted that the six-time champion’s well-known stubbornness is not recent; At the age of nine, Lewis told Dennis, then McLaren’s manager, that he would one day drive for him, which came 13 years later:
– It’s the whole mindset process in the race. At eight he said “I’m going to win, I want to work very hard to win.” Since then he has done the same with every race. It’s phenomenal.

Hamilton also owns six titles in the category, in addition to winning 161 podiums and 97 pole positions in his 14 seasons. For his father, Anthony, all of this transcended the expectations he had for his son in his childhood, which he proudly reveals.
– All I wanted for Lewis was for him to have a decent job, a good life, and be a good person. Everything that happened was a bonus. We always want our children to be happy and enjoy their lives. For me, that has always been the main objective. I am extremely proud that he did an incredible job and became a great human being, stated Lewis’s father.
