A bank branch in the Ponte Serrada Center, in the west of Santa Catarina, was the target of a robbery in the early hours of Wednesday (2). The criminals closed the doors of the barracks to prevent the police from moving. During the escape, a car was set on fire and there was a confrontation with the police on the border with Paraná. There are no reports of injuries.
The director of the State Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Deic), Luis Felipe Fuentes, ruled out the direct connection of the case with the robbery of Criciúma, which occurred between Monday night and Tuesday morning.

According to the Military Police, at least nine suspects in two vehicles participated in the action.

The incident took place around 3 in the morning on Sete de Setembro Street, in the Centro neighborhood.
According to the first information from the police, the criminals had invaded the bank, but did not manage to break into the safe.

During the action, the doors of the police station housing that give access to the vehicles, prevented the immediate exit of the vehicles.
The police went to the agency and asked for support from the Xanxerê, Faxinal dos Guedes, Xaxim, Concórdia and Irani teams.
The reinforcement of the Federal Highway Police (PRF) team in Concórdia and the Paraná police were also requested.

A car was set on fire by criminals. The suspects fled and there was a confrontation in the region of Palmas (PR), which borders the state of Santa Catarina. The search continues and no one had been detained as of 10:20 am.
The Municipality of Santa Catarina reported that it is aware of the case and follows the work of the police.
