After INSS announced the resumption of the experience on Thursday, the doctors association says the possibility is “zero” | economy

The president of the INSS, Leonardo Rolim, carried out inspections in the branches of the Federal District and affirmed that the services will resume as of Thursday (17) when they are approved. According to him, at least 151 agencies across the country have already been inspected.

The ANMP, however, assures that it “does not know” the inspections carried out this Wednesday. The entity accuses the INSS of altering the checklist of obligations for the resumption of the expertise, “making more flexible and relativizing essential elements such as cleaning, security, ventilation and equipment.” This checklist is part of an ordinance to determine new inspections at branches.

“We do not know it as an inspection. There was no qualified career technician there to make any judgment on the components of the evaluation. That was a political ‘inspection’, a visit of heads to an agency,” says Francisco Cardoso, vice president of the ANMP.

“Lives are at stake and this cannot be treated in such a crude way as we saw it on television a moment ago. Human lives must be respected. The benefit is already guaranteed remotely on an emergency basis, so only the INSS must do its duty. ” -which he stopped doing in the closed six months- and organize the agencies in a serious way for the return of the face-to-face experience ”, he says.

“The possibility is zero. At this time, it is no longer possible to organize the inspection list. The INSS did not provide us with anything,” says Cardoso.

According to the INSS, the ANMP was asked to participate in the surveys, but did not attend.

The INSS reopened the branches on Monday (14) after five months closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. But the medical expertise service, one of the main ones, has not been resumed. Skills are needed for workers to be able to receive assistance, return to work, or achieve retirement. According to INSS calculations, some 7,000 people could have been injured on Monday.

The reopening of agencies without the expert service caused a wave of queues and complaints throughout the country between Monday and Tuesday, and congestion in the INSS ‘digital and telephone service channels.

The suspension of the exams is related to an arm fight between the institute and the medical experts.

Professionals say the INSS did not adapt the agencies so that the service can be done safely amid the pandemic. The institute says that professionals are demanding improvements that have nothing to do with preventing disease.

The vice president of the National Association of Medical Experts (ANMP), Francisco Cardoso, says that there is no way to separate “Covid-19 related problem” from other “old problems”because the agencies had problems with adequate ventilation, hygiene infrastructure – such as lack of sinks, soap, garbage cans and adequate cleaning – and no security at the entrance.

Even with the agencies closed for almost six months, INSS continued to pay benefits that need medical expertise. From January to July of this year, R $ 46.3 billion were paid to retirees for disability, illness and accident. This value is 14.4% higher than paid in the same months of 2019 (total of R $ 40.5 billion).

The number of benefits granted fell 4.6%, from 35.8 million to 34.2 million.

The survey was conducted by G1 in the statistical bulletins of the Social Security and include benefits for sickness and retirement for disability of the Social Security – not linked to accidents or occupational diseases – and accidents, which are related to accidents or occupational diseases; in addition to assistance for accidents, a benefit that is granted when a work-related illness or accident leaves consequences that reduce the ability to work.

There was a decrease in the amounts paid only in sickness benefits in the first seven months of the year compared to 2019. The biggest was in accident, reduction of almost 14%. Social security had a reduction of 5.1% in the same period.

The other benefits had an increase in the amounts paid. The largest increases occurred in accident benefits (22.7%) and in retirement due to social security disability (22.2%).
