A flight to Fortaleza, departing from Guarulhos / SP, suffered a delay in its itinerary due to a case of homophobia against two flight attendants. The employees suffered offenses against their respective sexualities by a man who was going to disembark in the Capital when she asked to put the chair in the usual position, as a way to comply with the security protocols of any air travel. Homophobia has been considered a crime of racism in Brazil for about a year.
The case occurred during the preparation for the takeoff of flight LA3333, on the morning of this Monday, the 14th, and has had repercussions on social networks. The Latam airline team, responsible for the flight, called the Federal Police unit still at Guarulhos International Airport, in São Paulo, to remove the passenger from the aircraft and then continue their journey.
In a note posted by the company on Twitter, the company claims, in response to the positioning charges, that it requested the removal of the passenger in question for “undisciplined conduct.”
The company also indicated that it strictly follows all the security protocols stipulated at the national and international level and that it does not open margins for exceptions. “We strongly reject any type of offense and any opinion that contradicts respect does not reflect the values and principles of the company,” he added.

The confusion would have started after a flight attendant asked the passenger to place their seat in the usual position for greater safety at the time of take off and respecting flight safety regulations. The passenger in question would have been asleep at the time he was approached by the Latam employee and would have refused to comply with the request and would have called the commissioner a “fucking fag”.
Given the resistance of the passenger, the leader of the flight attendants was called to try to talk, clarify the situation of the infractions and ask again that the man respect the safety regulations so that the flight takes off and begins the trip. With the new order, the passenger would have started a new series of curses with homophobic content against the two professionals.
The information was extracted from reports by people close to the victims published on social networks, showing outrage at the situation and asking Latam for a position.
