What happened is that I have treated many patients aggravated by the issue of the pandemic, with panic, anxiety, depression, weight gain and other disorders, and many of these patients attribute it to the use of the mask, “he added.
It maintains that the legislation allows this to be done. “For patients who claim to be suffering physical or mental harm from wearing the mask, there is a legal prerogative that gives that patient the prerogative not to wear the mask.”
The doctor refers to Law 14.019, which establishes the mandatory use of a mask. Part of the text establishes that the equipment will be dispensed “in the case of people with the autism spectrum, intellectual disabilities, sensory disabilities or any other disability that prevents them from making proper use of a face protection mask, according to a medical statement.” .
TO ItatiaiaDoctor Estevão Urbano, president of the Infectious Diseases Society of Minas Gerais and member of the City Council Committee to Face Covid-19, said that the mask is essential as a preventive measure against the new coronavirus. “The use of masks while the individual remains away from his residence is a scientific recommendation recognized by international organizations as the main source of prevention against covid-19,” he declared.
“Know that the transmission of viruses occurs through the proximity and inhalation of contaminated droplets and know that these masks offer filtration against these viruses. Several studies have shown that the use of these masks provides both individual and collective protection. It continues to be a basic containment measure for covid-19 ”, the infectologist completed.
