The Federal District broke a new heat record in 2020. This Friday (10/9), the Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) registered 37.7ºC at the Águas Emendadas station, around 2:00 p.m. Despite the heat, the Brazilian had unexpected news: it rained in the capital.
The first precipitations after a long period of drought were registered in some regions of the capital, such as Guará, Águas Claras and Asa Norte.
Look at the rain in some places:
Despite the momentary relief, Inmet predicts the continuity of the heat wave. “The warm weather continues. Saturday and Sunday there must be rain, even hail. But this occasional drizzle will lower the temperature, ”said Inmet meteorologist Mamede Luiz Melo.
