After being defeated at the end of the second season of Band’s MasterChef Professionals (2017), chef Francisco Pinheiro, 46, was approved by Globo’s Mestre do Sabor. The cook was one of the participants in the premiere of Claude Troigros’ culinary reality this Thursday (30) and Judge Kátia Barbosa won with a plate of shrimp sausages, green beans, lemon sauce and vegetables.
“My expectation of participating in the program is always a reinvention. Obviously I do not hide that I want to reach the final. I did not just go for a walk,” said the professional after being approved in the Globo reality show.
When introduced to the dispute, Pinheiro spoke with Troisgros and his faithful squire, Batista. In an initial conversation, he warned that he would prepare shrimp, but was unable to test the preparation itself because he was allergic.
“This plate has a good history. I dreamed it, I drew it, I kept it for three years and I present it here,” he reported, surprising the presenter. “This dish will guarantee me a place because it tells my whole story,” he summarized.
Pinheiro started in gastronomy at the age of 12 in a bakery. “I had the opportunity to participate in a competition, which gave me the right to go to France to study,” he said. In narrating his story, he was recognized by Batista, who identified him as the second in the reality of the band.
“I participated and was a finalist. I didn’t win. Not that time,” said the chef, who now provides consulting services, teaches cooking classes and lectures. Pinheiro’s dish was praised by the juries José Avilez and Leo Paixão, but it was Kátia who approved it. “I am happy that she has chosen me. You can be sure that she has a strong professional on her team,” she concluded.
