It took Mike Tyson 15 years to get back in the ring, but the wait for a second fight should be short-lived. According to the prediction of the 54-year-old man, the idea is to have a 2021 with a full schedule, with exposures every two months. The statements were made after the screening with Roy Jones Jr., in Los Angeles, last Saturday (28).

“I want to fight every two months. I never felt old, I always had the energy,” Tyson said at a news conference held minutes after his return.

“I like the pressure. I always get over it and that’s what happened. We made a plan, we followed it and we achieved our goal,” added the former heavyweight champion, who lost 40 kg in recent months and performed with just under 100 kg.

In the exhibition fight against Roy Jones Jr., Tyson has been on top of his rival since the beginning of the fight. The eight-round bout surprised fans, with athletes in good shape for their 50s and older (Tyson is 54 and Jones is 51).

At the end of the dispute, Tyson had a clear advantage. No winners were announced, as previously stipulated by the California Athletic Commission. Remember that the rounds lasted two minutes.

“I’m happy with the draw. I thought I had won, but I’m happy because we cheer on the fans. I’m used to three-minute rounds, but I’m happy I completed this. I will continue,” Tyson said.
