An accident that occurred this Sunday morning (20), on Avenida Boa Viagem, left at least four injured. An uncontrolled car collided with another vehicle, invaded the boardwalk around 11 am and ran over some cyclists who were at the scene.
Of the four injured, two suffered abrasions and a head injury. The other two involved also suffered abrasions.
The driver of the silver car involved in the accident, Rafaela Maria dos Santos Pereira Borges, 36, was rescued at the Portuguese Hospital. The driver of the vehicle (Tucson), Ezequiel de Lima Pereira dos Santos, has minor injuries.
At least five ambulances were on the scene to provide assistance, both from Samu and the Fire Department.
Nado Silva, a local merchant, reported what he saw of the accident. “A child’s bike came off and almost hit my kiosk. I didn’t see if he was speeding, but I saw the hit that was strong,” he said.
Agents from the BPTran (Traffic Police Battalion) of the Pernambuco Military Police were at the scene. The path was cleared around 11:50 am.
