In addition, Ferreira said he was very happy, thanked the opportunity to coach Palmeiras and said he was prepared for this challenge:

The 41-year-old coach and his coaching staff were received by Cícero Souza and Maurício Galiotte at the Soccer Academy. Throughout the afternoon, there were meetings with the entire board of alviverde, including those responsible for the grassroots categories, such as Marcelo Dedeschi (director) and João Paulo Sampaio (coordinator).
President Álvarez did not spare praise for the work done by Sampaio, saying that it is “the greatest in the history of Palmeiras at the base.” This, in fact, was one of Verdão’s triumphs in convincing Abel to join the club, as the Portuguese is a great enthusiast in training young players, having already worked in this position at Sporting-POR.
Finally, the video showed the new Palmeiras coach watching the U-20 training session, led by Wesley Carvalho, with whom the Portuguese should maintain direct contact from now on to receive assistance in integrating the Academy Girls into the professional team. .
Abel Ferreira has been in command of Verdão from this Tuesday, when the players show up after defeating Atlético-MG 3-0 at the Allianz Parque. The new coach will make his debut on Thursday (5), against Red Bull Bragantino, for the second leg of the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil, at the alviverde arena.
