Cíntia Santos, the young woman who was hit and expelled from a bus in Salvador (BA) last Tuesday (5) for having removed the protective mask, was hospitalized due to the injuries and the condition that remained afterwards. What happened? She is hypertensive and cardiac.
The case had repercussions on Wednesday (6), when the images of the attack began to circulate on social networks. The video shows Cíntia being kicked and expelled from the vehicle.
On Thursday (7), Cíntia’s mother, Diamantina Santos, spoke to portal G1 about the attack on her daughter. I was outraged by what had happened.
“I wanted to ask these people:‘ Do you have a mother? Have children? “People on the bus, are there any mothers? Are there grandmothers? It seems like there were no people on that bus, it seems like there was a lot of pit bulls, then a stray dog came in and then the pit bulls got in and did that. My daughter is not a dog And if she were a dog, she couldn’t be treated like that. Because I have a dog and I don’t treat my dogs like that, “Diamantina said.
“My daughter is not an animal, no, people,” he added.
According to eyewitness accounts, the young woman was wearing a mask when she entered the bus. However, as he passed through the turnstile, he decided to remove the safety accessory and said he felt ill. Others say she sneezed, prompting the assaults.
The use of masks on public transport has been mandatory in Salvador since March. The municipal secretary of Policies for Women, however, was directly against the reaction of the other passengers.
“She is hospitalized and we at SPMJ, in the city of Salvador, have already contacted the family and we are providing all psychosocial assistance to this family. It is worth noting, at that time, that the violence suffered, despite not being gender-specific violence, is violence committed against a woman. We know that, unfortunately, she committed disobedience to the municipal decree, but in no way encourages violence in response. The attackers also committed violence, they committed a crime of bodily injury and nothing justifies it, “said the head of the portfolio, Rogéria Santos.
The military police are still trying to locate the attackers.
