The iFood food ordering application announced an expansion in the service’s payment methods. From now on, it is possible to register food stamps or food on the platform.
For now, the Alelo, Sodexo and VR flags are the only ones accepted. In accordance with Exam, the city of São Paulo is the first to receive the benefit, but the functionality will be expanded throughout Brazil “in the coming weeks”.
The coupon is added in the same way as credit cards, in the “Payment” option within the mobile application. VR payment had been in the company’s plans for some time.
Security and convenience paying directly from iFood
The company accelerated the implementation of the measure due to the new coronavirus pandemic; after all, this is a benefit received by many workers who, in times of social isolation, are at home and do not use restaurant credit. Since payment can be made online, with automatic discount, it also allows you to avoid physical contact with the person making the delivery.
In addition to this and other measures, iFood announced a R $ 50 million fund to help restaurants in this period.
