A technical failure in the pirated content detection system of the Youtube ended up penalizing the singer Ivete Sangalo Saturday night (25). The singer’s life was momentarily suspended on charges of violating the Globo Group.
The Bahian singer’s live show, in fact, is a cross-platform initiative organized by various vehicles of the family conglomerate Marinho. However, the official Ivete Sangalo page, with more than two million subscribers, was also authorized to broadcast the event.
For a few moments, anyone who tried to follow Ivete’s life was met with an error message, warning that such content was removed for violating Globo’s copyright. Who was watching there, had to go to the channel Multishow or for Globoplaand don’t miss the presentation.
Blocking, it should be noted, is automatic. YouTube provides content creators with a tool that automatically disables broadcasts and videos copied by third parties without prior authorization. In this case, there was probably some noise between the singer’s staff and Globo’s information technology team.
At the time of publication of this text, YouTube had already resumed transmission on the Ivete Sangalo page. However, its performance was affected: before the error, Ivete accumulated more views than the transmission made by Multishow.
With the accidental suspension, the situation was reversed. The Multishow page began to be followed by more than half a million people, while approximately 195 thousand remained on the official channel of Bahia.
The live broadcast, also broadcast by Multishow on television and Globoplay, was also broadcast by TV Globo for about 20 minutes. Previous Ibope data obtained by the Leo Dias Column shows that the program averaged 28 points in Greater São Paulo, a number equivalent to nearly 6 million viewers in the country’s largest metropolis.
