Almost a year after the arrival of version 19.04 “Disco Dingo”, Linux Ubuntu 20.04 LTS “Focal Fossa” was available on Friday (24), with a series of new features for users.

In its appearance, the operating system now has the elements centered on its input screen. There were also changes in the file explorer, which has gradient colors for some icons, as you can see in the image below:

Another point to note is the inclusion of more functions for the dark mode. Users can now enable the feature in a simpler way by opening the settings and accessing the “Appearance” section. The novelty is seen as an option for those who use the machine at night.

The graphical environment has been updated to Gnome 3.36. In practice, the animations began to have more fluidity and speed. Whoever uses the platform can also activate the “do not disturb” mode, so as not to receive notifications.

The new edition comes with Linux Kernel 5.4, with support for partitions in exFat format. Also, it has a function that prevents applications from having full access to the kernel.

Ubuntu 20.04 can be installed using a USB disk drive, by “flashing” the system image on the external device. The latest version of the operating system is available for download on the official website, accessible at this link.
