The rumors about Kim’s health started when, on April 15, he missed Kim Il-Sung’s 108th birthday celebrations – Grandfather of the current dictator and still considered the “Great Leader” of North Korea, he even died in 1994.
Days later, a website run by defectors from the regimen said Kim had undergone a “cardiovascular procedure.” In addition, White House sources even told the American press that the Kim’s condition was serious.
However, the information has not been confirmed by the governments of countries that monitor North Korea, such as South Korea, Japan and China, the North Korea’s government’s greatest ally. Subsequently, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, said he believed that the news about Kim’s health was false.
Considered one of the most closed regimes in the world, the North Korean government did not mention Kim’s health. The most recent publications in the KCNA state media report messages sent by the dictator to other allied heads of state in North Korea.

Also, in 2014, he spent almost a month without news and limped back. After returning, it was confirmed that Kim had undergone surgery to remove a cyst from her ankle.
