United States President Donald Trump said Thursday that he did not believe reports that North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un was ill. “I think the information was wrong,” said the Republican at a press conference at the White House.
“We have good relations with North Korea, and I have a good relationship with Kim. I hope he is doing well,” he said.

However, Trump did not say whether he spoke to White House informants who relayed information about Kim’s alleged serious condition to the American press. The president said he believed the reports were based on “old documents.”

The current President of the United States was the first in office to meet with a head of the North Korean regime in history. The first meeting between Trump and Kim took place in 2018 in Singapore. However, after the failure in a round of meetings in Vietnam, the relationship between the two countries has stalled.
Last year, Trump and Kim met on the border between the two Koreas, but there was still little progress in negotiations on the denuclearization of the North Korean regime, which has resumed missile testing.
